Free Computer Classes at the Tazewell County Public Library
Do you or someone you love need assistance using a computer? Do you know nothing about computers? Do you not have an email address or even know how to browse the internet? Are you ready and willing to learn? Then, this is the perfect opportunity for you. Tazewell County Public Library is offering four classes in March and April 2013 to help you more learn about computers. Classes will last approximately an hour and a half. Spacing is limited for each class so register today by calling your nearest branch.
Introduction to Computers | Internet Basics | Email Basics | Microsoft Word Basics
If you’ve never used a computer before, this is the class for you! This is a hands-on class using laptops. Learn how to hold, move, and click a mouse. Learn how to scroll. You will understand computer vocabulary and how to save your first Microsoft Word document.

Internet Basics:
Learn what the internet is and how to navigate it. Browse the World Wide Web, visit websites, navigate links, and search for information using a browser. Learn how to find a picture and get directions. Prerequisite: Introduction to Computers or equivalent skills

Sign up for a free Yahoo! e-mail account. Learn how to compose and send your first email message. Read, forward, and delete e-mails. Prerequisite: Introduction to Computers or equivalent skills

Microsoft Word Basics:
Learn to create, edit, and print simple documents. Learn how to highlight text, change font, align text, conduct spell check, and more. Learn how to save and retrieve your documents. Prerequisite: Introduction to Computers or equivalent skills
